Common questions

Dropshipping Policies and Supplier Permissions

Short answer

Importify can help you import product details, but it does not grant resale rights, brand permission, or approval to dropship from every supported website. Check supplier terms, brand rights, and fulfillment rules before listing a product.

Start with the permission question

Use Importify after you know the product is safe to sell. The clean workflow is simple: check the supplier's rules, avoid restricted brands, confirm how the order will be fulfilled, then import and rewrite the listing for your own store.

Importify is a product-import tool. It helps you import product titles, descriptions, images, variants, prices, and other listing data from supported sources. It is not a reseller license, supplier agreement, trademark permission, or legal approval.

What Importify does and does not decide

Importify supports legitimate ecommerce workflows, including importing products you are allowed to sell, editing listings, setting pricing rules, and managing order workflows. The permission check still belongs to you.

Importify decides the import workflow.

Use Importify to move supported product details into your store, edit the listing, set pricing rules, and prepare the product page.

You decide whether the product is safe to sell.

  • Resale permission: read the supplier or marketplace terms, then get permission when the terms require it.
  • Brand rights: do not list branded products unless the brand owner, distributor, or supplier has authorized you.
  • Photos and copy: use only assets you are allowed to use, and rewrite supplier descriptions before publishing.
  • Fulfillment: confirm the supplier allows direct-to-customer shipping and that packaging, invoices, returns, and tracking fit your store policy.

Use this rule for every supported website

Support in Importify means Importify can help with the import workflow. It does not mean every supplier on that marketplace permits dropshipping, resale, brand use, or commercial reuse of its images.

Before you list a product, check three things: the marketplace terms, the individual seller's terms, and the product itself. A generic, unbranded item with clear supplier permission is lower risk than a branded item, a copyrighted design, or a product that depends on misleading claims.

Do not sell branded products without permission

Branded products need written permission. If you do not have permission, skip the product or find an unbranded alternative. This matters for logos, trademarked names, copyrighted artwork, celebrity images, designer-style items, and products that imitate a protected brand.

Keep proof when a supplier or brand approves resale. Useful records include reseller authorization, distribution agreements, brand usage approval, invoices from authorized distributors, and written supplier terms that allow your selling model.

Supplier-specific rules can be stricter

Some marketplaces and suppliers have their own rules. Amazon allows dropshipping only when you follow its seller-of-record requirements. Etsy restricts dropshipping and reselling, with limited exceptions. SHEIN and Temu need extra caution because their terms and fulfillment model are not built around standard third-party dropshipping workflows.

When a supplier has a dedicated Importify guide, use that guide for the exact warning. Generic policy advice should not replace supplier-specific rules.

Build a safer workflow

  1. Pick lower-risk products. Start with unbranded products, clear supplier terms, and products you can describe honestly.

  2. Check the supplier before importing. Read the product page, shipping terms, return policy, and marketplace rules.

  3. Rewrite the listing. Use your own product description, your own store voice, and only images you are allowed to use.

  4. Test fulfillment. Place a sample order when possible so you can check packaging, invoices, shipping time, and product quality.

  5. Keep records. Save permission emails, supplier agreements, invoices, and screenshots of relevant terms.

Honest note: this guide is practical ecommerce guidance, not legal advice. If a product depends on brand permission, regulated claims, or unclear supplier rights, ask the supplier or a qualified professional before selling it.

Frequently asked questions

Does Importify give me permission to sell products?

No. Importify helps you import product details into your store. You still need to check supplier terms, marketplace rules, brand rights, and product restrictions before selling.

Can I dropship from every Importify-supported website?

No. Importify support means the import workflow can work technically. It does not mean every marketplace, supplier, or product allows dropshipping or resale.

Can I sell branded products with Importify?

Only if you have permission from the brand owner, authorized distributor, or supplier. Without permission, use unbranded products or suppliers with clear resale terms.

What should I check before importing a product?

Check supplier terms, product rights, shipping time, packaging, invoice behavior, returns, tracking, and whether the product makes claims you can support.
